Bob van Dijk became Group CEO of Naspers in April 2014, assuming the additional role of Group CEO of Prosus at its listing on the Euronext Amsterdam stock exchange in September 2019. He has over two decades of experience managing online growth companies. He joined the group as CEO of the Allegro division in August 2013 and was promoted to CEO of Global Transaction Ecommerce in October 2013. He previously worked at eBay and Schibsted, spanning the online marketplaces, online classifieds and fashion segments. Prior to that Bob was an entrepreneur in online financial products having started his career at McKinsey with a focus on M&A and media. Bob has an MBA from INSEAD and an MSc from Erasmus University, Rotterdam.

Basil Sgourdos (South African and Greek) is our financial director and an executive director. He was appointed as the financial director of Naspers in July 2014. He worked for PricewaterhouseCoopers Inc. from 1989 to 1994. Thereafter he joined Naspers, initially as the finance manager of the South African operations division in MultiChoice and then as chief financial officer of Naspers’s investment in United Broadcasting Corporation plc, listed on the Stock Exchange of Thailand, where he remained for 10 years. He then spent two years in Amsterdam as the general manager of the video-entertainment business development globally before being appointed as financial director of MIH Holdings Proprietary Limited (MIH Holdings) in January 2009. He held this position until he became the financial director of Naspers. He is a qualified South African chartered accountant and holds a BCom from the University of the Witwatersrand and BAccHons from the University of South Africa.

On 17 April 2015, he succeeded Ton Vosloo as chair of the Naspers board. He previously co-led M&A and corporate finance for SoftBank Group International. PayU is also one of the most active strategic investors, with over $1.5bn of capital deployed for M&A and Investments and a portfolio of over 20 companies across all segments of fintech and crypto. Laurent is a board member of Remitly Inc (Nasdaq: RELY), a member of the World Economic Forum group of payments experts, and a member of the advisory board of Growtheum Capital in Singapore. Laurent holds a Masters from HEC in Paris and Bocconi University in Milan, and an MBA from the London Business School.

Larry is the CEO of Prosus Food and Edtech. He is an experienced CEO, leading investor and board director, with over 20 years of experience in managing and advising multinational companies. Since joining Naspers in 2013 and launching Prosus Ventures (previously Naspers Ventures) in 2015 as the group’s first CEO, Larry now leads the Prosus Food and Prosus Edtech segments as CEO. Larry has overseen investments totaling nearly $12 billion around the world. He has been recognised for his leadership, twice chosen as one of the top five most influential corporate venture investors on the GCV Powerlist. In 2021, he was featured as an expert panelist at the Milken Institute conference, and in 2022 at the ASU + GSV Summit.

Prior to this role, as COO of Prosus Ventures/Naspers Ventures, Martin’s primary areas of focus were ventures strategy, assessing investment targets, and supporting our portfolio companies with operating expertise. Prior to Naspers, Martin was CEO of Kiva.org, where he was responsible for bringing the organisation to solid operational and financial footing in the years after the startup. Prior to Kiva, he spent many years leading ecommerce businesses in retail marketplaces, and horizontal & vertical classifieds space. Martin started his working life as a strategy consultant and founded his own private equity business early in his career. Martin holds an MSc. in Mechanical Engineering from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETH) and an MBA from INSEAD.
