iFood joins forces with Delivery Hero’s Domicilios.com in Colombia to shake up food delivery market

With the agreement, companies plan to combine existing operations
 
iFood, a leading foodtech company in Latin America and Delivery Hero, one of the leading global online food ordering and delivery marketplaces, announced today an agreement to create a partnership to help grow the online food delivery ecosystem in the Colombian market. The combined companies will have the largest geographic presence in Colombia with more than 12,000 restaurants in over 30 cities across the country. The agreement is subject to customary conditions of closing including applicable merger control procedures.

In addition to geographic leadership, we will be bringing our world-class expertise in technology, including artificial intelligence (AI), to enhance the experience on Domicilios.com for consumers, restaurants and delivery partners” says Fabricio Bloisi, CEO of iFood.
 
iFood will hold a majority stake in the combined entity and will focus its efforts on increasing the capacity of operations. "The Colombian market has great growth potential and the new partnership will accelerate our investments in Colombia. We will have a highly experienced team to lead the integration process of the two companies, which will combine the good practices of both enterprises and create a culture that prioritizes the customers of our businesses – restaurants, delivery partners and, of course, hungry Colombians", explains Carlos Moyses, iFood’s Corporate and Latin America Vice President. Once the deal is approved, Moyses will be in charge of the integration plan and will kickstart the new operation.
 
The partnership will bring a series of benefits to the entire food delivery ecosystem in Colombia. For restaurant and delivery partners, there will be a significant amount of additional business, and consumers will have access to a larger and more complete offering of products and services, with the influence of iFood’s leading expertise.
