40,000+ restaurants already signed up, as we bring AI products to our partners across our ecosystem
Last week, more than 12,700 entrepreneurs, operators and partners filled the São Paulo Expo for iFood Move 2026, the largest event for the restaurant, retail and convenience sectors in Latin America. Over two days, more than 220 speakers shared industry best practice across 100 hours of talks and discussions.
An AI partner that works for every restaurant
At Move, iFood launched Toqan to its restaurant partners across Brazil. Drawing on data from iFood Marketplace and restaurant management systems, Toqan is powered by AI that helps restaurants sell more and save time. In June, Prosus committed to making Toqan available to its 5 million+ restaurants, merchants and entrepreneurs. By the close of iFood Move, more than 40,000 restaurants had already signed up.
Small businesses have largely been left behind by AI. In Brazil, AI adoption among independent restaurants reached just 18% in 2025, against 43% for large chains. Most have no engineers, no data team and no time. Toqan lets owners ask questions in plain language: “Why did my cancellations go up this week?” and delivers a clear answer in seconds. Restaurants can build their own dashboards, apps and automations by simply describing what they need, with no technical knowledge required.
Toqan turns a restaurant's operational data into decisions, automations and growth opportunities. It tracks orders and revenue, flags cancellations early, manages reviews and benchmarks the restaurant against local competitors. It can also plan staff rotas and create marketing campaigns, always with the owner's approval.
Built on 15 years of iFood foodservice knowledge and piloted with 3,800+ restaurants, Toqan is free for iFood partners, with a wider rollout in the coming months.
“As a Brazilian technology company with 15 years of history, iFood has built deep knowledge of Brazilian consumers and the foodservice sector. With Toqan, we are democratising access to artificial intelligence for every restaurant owner in the country, offering technology that understands the reality of their business and helps them make better decisions,” said Diego Barreto, iFood’s CEO.
Building and shipping AI products for Prosus partners
This is Prosus’s AI strategy in action. We are building and shipping AI products that supercharge growth for the partners and SMEs across our extended ecosystem. Toqan was first tested at scale across Prosus businesses, where our 40,000 employees have built more than 60,000 AI agents. Now that same technology is in the hands of the restaurants that power our ecosystem. Their success is our success.
15 years of powering Brazil’s economy
iFood Move was also a celebration: 15 years of iFood. In that time, iFood has become one of the engines of the Brazilian economy. Today it connects 65 million consumers with 500,000+ restaurant partners and merchants in more than 2,000 cities, supported by 600,000 couriers and delivering over 180 million orders a month. According to the Economic Research Institute Foundation (Fipe), iFood’s activities accounted for 0.70% of Brazil’s GDP in 2025 and contributed R$167 billion (US$32 billion) to the economy. Its ecosystem created 1.18 million jobs, more than 1% of the country’s employed population. For small businesses, the impact is real: Joining iFood reduces a restaurant’s long-term risk of bankruptcy by up to 60%.
