Annabelle Vultee succeeds Maarten Franken as CEO of GoodHabitz

Netherlands-based soft skills online training provider GoodHabitz has announced the appointment of EdTech leader Annabelle Vultee as its new CEO.

Currently delivering training courses in 22 different languages to 6.2m students worldwide, GoodHabitz is looking to double its Annual Recurring Revenue to $108 million (€100m) within the next three years.

To achieve this, Vultee will take on the top job and spearhead global growth plans, building on European success, and capitalize on increased demand for ‘soft’ skills training. As the rise of new technologies, AI in particular, continue to shape the future of work.

A new leader for new growth

Vultee will remain as a Board Member and Chair of the Talent & Remuneration Committee at EQuest Education Group, one of the largest private education institutions in Vietnam.

Prior to this she was an Executive Advisor at leading global investment firm, KKR & Co. Inc. and was Chief Operating Officer of EF Education First, based in Shanghai, one of the largest online and hybrid language training platforms in Europe and APAC.

She will succeed Maarten Franken, who founded GoodHabitz with Patrick Stijfs in 2011 and will now become Chairman of the Supervisory Board.

“Maarten’s leadership has been pivotal in shaping GoodHabitz into the industry powerhouse it is today, and I’m excited to build upon that foundation as we navigate the path forward,” Vultee commented.

Commenting on the transition, Franken said it was a “perfect time” for the business to undergo a “strategic shift” as it enters a new period of growth.

“My transition to Chairman of the Supervisory Board offers me an opportunity to concentrate my efforts on strategic planning and governance and offer valuable guidance to the executive team to support GoodHabitz’ ongoing success,” he said.

“I’m pleased to pass the torch to Annabelle with the company in its best shape and condition.

“Her extensive experience in EdTech, coupled with her drive and extensive international network, positions her well to lead the company into new markets and opportunities.”
