Prosus Ventures Backs Taktile’s $54M Series B to Drive AI-Powered Risk Decisioning in Financial Services
Taktile, a category-defining decision automation platform, has raised $54 million in a Series B funding round, with Prosus Ventures playing a key role alongside lead investor Balderton Capital. The funding underscores Prosus Ventures’ commitment to shaping the future of AI-driven decision-making in financial services. Other participating investors include existing backers Index Ventures, Tiger Global, Y Combinator, Visionaries Club, and Larry Summers, former US Secretary of the Treasury, bringing Taktile’s total funding to $79 million.
Prosus Ventures, a global consumer internet investor with deep expertise in AI and financial technology, continues to back Taktile as part of its AI for commerce investment thesis. Effective risk decisioning is critical across financial services and digital commerce, enabling businesses to assess creditworthiness, detect fraud, and ensure compliance in an increasingly complex regulatory landscape. Taktile’s no-code AI-powered platform abstracts away technical complexities, allowing organizations to design, test, and deploy risk decisioning logic with agility and precision.
Taktile’s Growth, Impact and World Class Founding Team
Since Prosus Ventures’ initial investment, Taktile has quadrupled its customer base and grown ARR more than 3.5x. Today, the company operates in 24 markets and serves some of the world’s most sophisticated fintechs and financial institutions, including Mercury, Kueski, Zilch, Allianz, and Rakuten Bank.
Recognized as a category leader by G2 for three consecutive quarters, Taktile also secured the “Tech of the Future – Decision Making” award at the 2024 Banking Tech Awards USA. Its platform currently delivers hundreds of millions of risk decisions every month, proving its indispensable role in modern financial infrastructure.
Taktile’s co-founders, Maik and Maximilian, bring deep technical and financial expertise. As founding engineers at QuantCo, they built AI solutions for financial institutions, gaining insight into AI’s high-stakes applications. With backgrounds in statistics and financial economics, they bridge AI with real-world finance, enabling businesses to build precise, AI-driven risk decisioning workflows.
Maik Taro Wehmeyer, CEO & Co-founder, Taktile said: “From day one of our journey, we believed that millions of lives could be improved by enabling organizations to make optimal decisions for their customers. By keeping experienced risk experts in control, we make it possible for even the most regulated businesses in financial services to fully adopt AI into high-stakes workflows.”
Prosus Ventures’ Vision: Driving AI Adoption in Financial Services
AI adoption in financial services has long been constrained by the complexity of high-stakes decision-making. While AI excels in areas like customer support chatbots and marketing personalization, risk decisions—such as credit underwriting, fraud detection, and compliance monitoring—require absolute precision. Even the most advanced AI models must be governed by robust frameworks to mitigate risks like fraud losses, loan defaults, and regulatory penalties.
“Risk automation remains one of the most significant challenges in financial services, and Taktile is providing a scalable, AI-driven solution to help institutions navigate risk efficiently,” said Prosus Ventures. “This investment aligns with our broader AI for e-commerce strategy, as AI-powered decisioning is a fundamental enabler for digital marketplaces and financial ecosystems.”
Prosus Ventures recognizes the urgent need for AI-powered risk decisioning that puts experts in control. Taktile bridges this gap by equipping risk and engineering teams with a shared platform to build, manage, and optimize AI-driven decision-making workflows. This ensures AI moves beyond experimentation to delivering real, measurable business value.
