Prosus Ventures Invests in Flexion Robotics to Build the Intelligence Stack for Humanoid Robots
Flexion raises $50 million in Series A; Prosus Ventures DST Global Partners, NVentures, Redalpine, and Moonfire Ventures participated in the round
Prosus Ventures is excited to back Flexion, a robotics software company building the intelligence layer for humanoid robots. As AI moves from the digital world into the physical one, Flexion is addressing robotics' biggest bottleneck: the lack of scalable, high-quality training data.
Using simulation-first reinforcement learning, Flexion enables robots to accumulate thousands of hours of experience per day in high-fidelity virtual environments—far beyond what human teleoperation can achieve. This approach dramatically accelerates learning, reduces cost, and drives real-world generalization.
Founded by Nikita Rudin and David Hoeller, the team behind NVIDIA’s Isaac Lab—the industry-standard platform for simulation-based RL—Flexion has already demonstrated successful deployment of simulation-trained locomotion models on physical humanoid robots.
“Our mission is simple but ambitious: to power the intelligence stack for humanoid robots, so they can work alongside humans, not depend on them,” said Nikita Rudin, CEO & Co-Founder of Fleixon Robotics. “We’re not building the body. We’re building the brain. This is a hard problem. But the right kind of hard.”
A top-tier team building humanoid intelligence
Humanoid robots represent one of the largest frontier opportunities in tech. With global labor shortages rising and manual work accounting for more than 30% of global GDP, intelligent robots are becoming an economic necessity, not a science-fiction ideal.
Flexion’s software-first approach directly addresses the industry’s most critical constraints: scalable data generation, adaptable control systems, and continuous sim-to-real learning.
"The founding team consists of top experts in simulation-based robotics training,” said Sandeep Bakshi, Head of European Investments at Prosus Ventures. “Nikita and David pioneered the field at ETH Zurich in 2022 and later at NVIDIA, building Isaac Lab, the leading platform for simulation-based reinforcement learning. Isaac Lab is foundational to modern robot learning and used by robotics companies worldwide. Flexion's team is among the most qualified globally to advance this field.”
Enabling the future of robotics
As hardware accelerates and demographic pressures intensify, the intelligence layer of robotics will determine which companies shape the next era of automation. Flexion is building that layer—and redefining what autonomous machines can learn, adapt to, and achieve.
Prosus Ventures is proud to partner with the Flexion team as they scale their platform, grow globally, and push the boundaries of what humanoid robots can do.
