Prosus Ventures leads US$15m Series A in Lastro to scale AI agent transforming real estate in Brazil

With 2M+ buyer interactions and 1,000+ brokerages onboarded, Lastro is building a hub for Brazil’s property market with its AI agent Lais — faster deals, smarter insights, stronger relationships

Prosus Ventures today announced it has led the $15 million Series A round in Lastro, a Brazilian artificial intelligence proptech reimagining how homes are bought, sold, and managed. The round also included participation from FJ Labs, Endeavor Scale-Up Ventures, Canary, QED, and 1Sharpe Ventures. With fresh funding, Lastro will accelerate product development, enhance the broker and customer experience, and expand integrations across Brazil’s largest property listing portals.

For Prosus, the investment underscores our commitment to backing AI-driven solutions that deliver tangible impact in everyday industries. Brazil’s real estate sector, one of the largest in the world, is highly fragmented and burdened by manual, repetitive processes. Lastro’s AI agent, Lais, has already proven it can reshape this sector—serving over 1,000 brokerages and interacting with more than 2 million prospective buyers and renters to date - mostly via WhatsApp.

Why Prosus invested

  • AI applied to real-world industries: We believe the most valuable AI companies will combine cutting-edge technology with deep vertical expertise. Lastro has trained its domain-specific AI on millions of property conversations, enabling it to automate tasks and deliver insights that directly raise conversion rates and broker productivity.
  • Massive market ripe for change: Real estate in Brazil is a trillion-dollar sector, with a sales process still heavily dependent on manual lead qualification and client communication. By embedding AI into WhatsApp—the country’s dominant commerce channel—Lastro is meeting the market where it already operates.
  • Empowering, not replacing, brokers: Unlike many proptech platforms that seek to bypass brokers, Lastro is building for them. By cutting response times from hours to seconds, qualifying leads automatically, and handling property management requests, Lais frees up brokers to focus on client relationships.
  • Scaling from Brazil to the world: Brazil is often a proving ground for consumer-facing innovation. With its technical depth, early traction, and strong founder team, Lastro is well positioned to expand beyond Brazil into global real estate markets facing similar challenges.

“In Brazil, where WhatsApp has become the backbone of commerce, Lastro’s AI platform is uniquely positioned to transform how properties are bought and sold,” said Rafael Barbalat, Investor at Prosus Ventures LatAm. “Their domain-specific technology, trained on millions of real estate conversations, gives them a clear competitive edge and the technical depth to capture a meaningful share of the global real estate technology market. We see tremendous potential for Lastro to expand well beyond Brazil, redefining property transactions worldwide. With Prosus’ global reach and experience scaling technology companies, we’re confident we can help catalyze this journey. We’re impressed by the remarkable founding team, and we’re excited to back Allan and José Thomaz on their journey forward.”

For Prosus Ventures, this investment builds on our history of supporting transformative technology in Latin America, from food delivery through iFood to online classifieds via OLX. With Lastro, we are backing the next generation of AI-first companies shaping how essential industries operate.

Further, as seen in our recent investments in Zapia and Luzia, WhatsApp has become the de facto operating system for commerce in Brazil, particularly for real estate brokers navigating a fragmented, analog market. With approximately 200 million Brazilians using the messaging app to buy, sell, and communicate, brokers rely on WhatsApp to list properties, negotiate terms, send photos, coordinate visits, and manage transactions.

"Brazil’s real estate sector is massive and filled with simple, repetitive, and time-consuming tasks – the kind of work where artificial intelligence excels. Lais has already proven it can transform how the market engages with customers and streamlines these tasks, driving higher conversion rates and freeing up brokers’ time so they can focus on building relationships with their customers,” said Allan Paladino, CEO and co-founder of Lastro. “Unlike many technology solutions that aim to replace brokerages, our goal is the opposite: to leverage artificial intelligence in a way that empowers brokerages to focus on what they do best – selling and renting properties."

Lastro’s impact so far

  • 2M+ property seekers engaged: Lais has spoken with more than two million Brazilians, dramatically improving broker response times—from six hours to just 15 seconds in some cases.
  • 1,000+ brokerages onboarded: Today, more than 1,000 brokerages already rely on Lastro to power lead engagement, property management, and portfolio growth.
  • Real-time market intelligence: By transforming conversations into insights, Lastro provides brokers with dashboards on in-demand neighborhoods, property types, and the most effective marketing channels, further building for brokers.
