More on dott:
- Micro-mobility as a trend continues to grow across Europe, and Dott continues to capitalise on this: Alternative transportation options and the sharing economy are growing trends t having a disruptive impact on the transportation industry – particularly within densely populated urban areas like Manhattan or London where everyday transportation needs are largely limited. As people change their habits and cities adapt their mobility strategy, we believe Dott is well positioned to enable sustainable mobility with its fleet responsibly integrated into cities.
- European cities in particular offer opportunity and this is where Dott is located: While some well capitalised players have emerged in China and the U.S. Europe surprisingly lags despite two-wheeled transit being more common than in other geographies. European cities are numerous, dense, and residents are highly mobile and complete millions of short distance trips every day. In addition, European cities are increasingly prioritising free and clean alternatives to transport, creating an opportunity for Dott, particularly as no dominant player has emerged yet in the region.
- Strong operating team with local expertise: The co-founders have a long operating track record in the European mobility space. Maxim Romain is former OFO EMEA CEO and Henri Moissinac is the former OFO EMEA Head of Business, and former EMEA Uber Head of Business Partnerships. Both have strong local expertise and established relationships which will be instrumental in scaling the business over the long term.
