iFood wins 3 x Cannes Lions for Women’s World Cup campaign

Last week, iFood, one of our major food delivery businesses, won three prestigious awards at Cannes Lion International Festival of Creativity, the premier global event for creative communications and marketing.

For the FIFA Women’s World Cup last summer, iFood partnered with Cazé TV and McDonald's to broadcast over 64 of the women’s World Cup games to people in Brazil via the iFood app.

The idea for the campaign was borne out of the disparity in viewership between men's and women's World Cup games in Brazil – 93% of Brazilians watched the men’s World Cup in 2022, while in June 2023 fewer than 25% were planning to watch the women’s World Cup later that year.

The campaign not only increased visibility for women's sports but also boosted activity on iFood’s delivery platform, particularly for breakfast orders during the morning games. Twenty-one million people watched women’s World Cup games through the iFood app and orders increased 23% compared to the previous month.

At the Cannes Lions festival, the campaign won three awards across three different categories, including gold, silver and bronze lions.
