- Capital enables targeted expansion and operational investments in Germany and the Netherlands
- Both markets offer significant growth potential in online grocery
- Flink confirms EBITDA profitability following market consolidation
- Financing round led by Prosus and other existing investors; Btomorrow Ventures joins as new investor
Flink, the leading quick commerce operator in Germany and the Netherlands, has secured around US$100 million in new growth capital. The financing round is led by Prosus and other existing investors, with Btomorrow Ventures, the corporate venture arm of BAT, joining the investor group.
The new funding strengthens Flink’s financial position following a period of consolidation in the European online grocery sector and provides additional flexibility to pursue a targeted expansion in its core markets.
EBITDA-Profitability achieved after industry consolidation
Over the past two years, Flink has refined its operating model with a clear focus on operational excellence, unit economics and disciplined cost structures. As a result, the company confirms that it is now operating profitably at EBITDA level.
“The market has fundamentally evolved,” said Julian Dames, CEO of Flink. “Quick commerce works when it is built on operational discipline and realistic customer expectations. Our strength lies in combining profitable operations with true on-demand delivery — a model that clearly differentiates us in the market. We are pleased to welcome Btomorrow Ventures as a new investor alongside our existing shareholders. Their support reinforces our position as the category leader in our core markets.”
Targeted expansion in Germany
The company plans to open additional hubs in selected German regions in 2026, focusing exclusively on areas that meet strict profitability and density criteria.
Flink’s model is designed around frequent, high-quality top-up shopping missions, reflecting how customers actually shop locally. With an average basket of over €45 and an average delivery time of approximately 30 minutes, Flink combines true on-demand delivery with operational profitability.
Significant market potential
Online grocery penetration in Germany currently stands at roughly 3.5%, the Netherlands stands at 6.0%, compared to approximately 14% in the UK. Each percentage point shift from offline to online represents billions of euros in incremental market potential.
“Both markets are entering the decisive phase of online grocery adoption,” Dames added. “The infrastructure is in place, and we are positioned to capture that next wave of growth.”
