Prosus's deep-dive call series – Edtech & Stack Overflow

Wednesday, 25 May 2022, at 16:00 CET

The Prosus Investor Relations team are hosting a series of deep-dive calls to provide an in-depth look at Prosus’s portfolio and investment strategy. We are pleased to invite you to join a call with Prosus’s Edtech team on Wednesday, 25 May 2022, at 16:00 CET. This is the fourth event in our deep dive call series, which has covered online food delivery, OLX Autos and digital credit in India.

Prosus was an early investor in Edtech, having entered the market in 2016 and since has invested more than US$3.5bn. The education market overall is expected to reach US$10tr by 2030 and is ripe for disruption by technology, which will help to overcome major barriers like access to education, capital constraints and reach.

Prosus is predominantly focused in two sub-sectors of the Edtech market – workplace learning/higher education and K-12. The workplace learning/higher education portfolio consists of Stack Overflow (100% stake), GoodHabitz (62%), Skillsoft, including Codecademy, which it recently acquired (38%), Platzi (19%), Sololearn (19%), Udemy (14%), Eruditus (13%) and EduMe (13%). Skillsoft and Udemy recently became public companies. The K-12 education portfolio consists of Brainly (42%), BYJU’S (10%), and GoStudent (8%).

The call will be hosted by Larry Illg, CEO of Prosus Edtech and Food segments. He will be joined by Prashanth Chandrasekar, CEO of Stack Overflow, which Prosus acquired in 2021. Stack Overflow is one of the 50 most popular websites globally. It has built a global company and highly engaged developer and technologist community, now serving more than 100 million people across the world every month. Founded in 2008 as an open community-based question and answer website for the developer community, the company has expanded to include Stack Overflow for Teams, a leading knowledge management and collaboration platform.
